Difficult Interview – Overall Positive Experience – Yes, and I accepted – Mon, 7 Sep 2015

Interviewed Aug 2015 in London, England(took 6 days)
The inteview process has taken me about 5/6 months, beginning in April. I applied at the beginning of April and got an email for a recruitment event set for a week later. It was a group interview, in a hotel setting with approx 20 people; the atmosphere was pretty laid back and we were asked to participate in an icebreaker activity before watching a couple videos on the roles. I tried as hard as possible to answer a lot of questions and look involved, I assume it paid off as I got called back for a second inteview :) The second one was in June, if I recall correctly, and this was with 2 other candidates, with the store managers. The questions were more focused on our experiences, rather than our tech knowledge, e.g. How would you diffuse a situation in a heated setting? Again, I tried my hardest to be involved with the other candidates & have a positive approach. Also, asking the interviewers questions at the end of the interview shows initiative and interest :) I received an email a couple weeks later, saying I made it to the final stage! I attended the interview mid August and this was with a group of approx. 6 of us. Similar to the 2nd interview session, with questions about personality rather than expertise. Eg. What are your two greatest achievements so far? At this point, I made an effort to put my hand up to answer all the questions first, so I had a bit of advantage over the other candidates (it was every man for themselves at this point - I mean, there's a reason the others got to this stage too right?! Lol!) Following the same techniques I'd used for the previous inteview such as showing that I was engaged and asking questions, I received an email a week later stating that I had got the job on the basis that my background check is satisfactory :) The background check is carried out by a company called HireRight, who do all of the checks for apple and it can take from 5-20 days apparently At the moment, I'm still waiting, so fingers crossed!! I hope this helped, Good luck guys!! X
