Difficult Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Tue, 13 Sep 2016

Interviewed Sep 2,016 in Columbus, OH (took 14 days)
After some e-mail correspondence and an eventual phone interview... I was invited to attend one of their infamous hiring events. This was the farthest I'd ever gotten in their hiring process so I thought I had a decent chance this time. I was also one of the best dressed at the event so I thought I was a shoe in. They invite you in to the store, after hours, with a bunch of other potential candidates and have you interact with each other. They show you videos, play little 'games' and they watch you closely while you interact with your fellow candidates. Like a lab rat running through a maze. I honestly don't know what the key to getting hired is since I felt I did fairly well but got an e-mail 24 hours later saying they decided to go with other candidates. The best advice I can give you is to try to be as outgoing and as amenable as possible. Smile a lot, laugh a lot, and try to make them remember you. Other than that, don't get your hopes up. You can know everything there is to know about Apple products and they still won't let you in unless you make an impression.
