Difficult Interview – Overall Neutral Experience – No – Tue, 11 Apr 2017

Interviewed (took 7 days)
Initial Phone interview: Interviewer didn't know anything about the topic, so they were asking questions that were difficult to answer in the manner they were asked. Once I figured out what they wanted to know, I was able to give them a solid answer, but I believe this lead the Department Manager to believe I pulled the answers out of a hat. Second Interview with Dept Manager was much more technically detailed than the initial interview. Interviewer asked a lot of very specific questions, but was very impersonal... That's fine, I can deal with that. Some of the questions asked did not relate to my current role, so I indicated that during the interview. I was asked a lot about training, as they were looking for somebody who could provide training as well. While I was more than capable to do so, I unfortunately, do not have access to the same budget as Apple and must make due with far fewer resources. So I was asked about how I would approach some training techniques, but I did so from the position of very few resources. At the end of the second phone interview, I was told to expect a call back from the recruiter regardless of the outcome. I never received a call indicating one way or the other. I understand this is somewhat normal and the interviewers have a lot of candidates to screen, but it is a personal pet peeve of mine. Do what you say you are going to do.
