Difficult Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Thu, 21 Sep 2017
Interviewed Sep 2,017 in Singapore
Though I didn't get the role, I really appreciate the help I've gotten from Glassdoor.
1st Round: There were 20 of us and 3 sessions. They started off by introducing themselves and making us watch some Apple related videos and asked for our one-word reaction towards the clips. Moving on, we were separated into two large groups about 10 of us each. We were required to role-play as customer and service specialist after a brief tell me about yourselves. We went through 2 scenario-based situations and that was the end. I didn't expect it to take up such a huge role of the "interview" as I barely had the chance to speak in a group of 3. Pro tip: Make friends with people who are able to help you and are as fluent as you.
2nd Round: Repeated the tell me about yourself story. The rest of the questions are listed below for easy reference. All was going well and I was as genuine and sincere as I could until the end. I probably didn't answer them well to the expectations of the hiring manager, but at the end when they asked if we had questions, the other dude who was interviewing with me dropped this. He said, "Do you know XXX from the XXX branch, he is the XXX manager." And the hiring manager actually knew him... So moral of the story: It is indeed easier to enter Harvard than Apple and I'm grateful for the experience BUT I would appreciate it even more if Apple hires without discrimination as per their policy instead of referring people. They led me on for 6 weeks only to get crushed by another person who has prior connections/ experience with Apple. It was really quite disappointing.
