Difficult Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Wed, 20 Jun 2018

Interviewed May 2,018 in Cupertino, CA (took 7 days)
It was a phone interview. The Hiring Manager didn't show up. After 15 mins, I emailed the recruiter, and she replied the next day. Finally, another time was set up. The recruiter told me to text her if the hiring manager is more than 5 mins late this time. The hiring manager was late. And I texted the recruiter. Apparently, the hiring manager was in a meeting and was late. Finally, the interview started after 15 mins of the scheduled time. I did not like the interviewer's tone from the beginning. It was a mistake to attend this interview, I did it only because it was Apple. The hiring manager had a set tone. He had this attitude to fail me somehow. And after asking me more and more on something that I didn't claim to know, he finally found something. The interview ended as he wanted it to be. My understanding is that the hiring manager has a lot of issues. His ego was a problem (probably the inferiority complex to interview a PhD being a non-PhD himself). Probably the origin of nationality is another problem. People from his country usually don't hire people from my country (I have heard this from many people of my country). Being in Apple, I hoped that he will free from those. But within the first few minutes, I realized it was a mistake. I just wanted it to end.

Interview Questions
The role was for a battery quality manager. The hiring manager keeps asking me why I want to go for the quality engineer role regardless of my answer.
