They are pushing diversity- hard. I would normally think of this as a good thing, but through the multiple group interviews it appears that they are only doing this because it looks good. This is just a retail sales job that guises itself in a pretty package that they have manicured to look progressive.
If you are a techie, an apple fan, or have worked in electronics you probably won’t get the job. They want people with blank slates that they can give their kool aid to, and diverse faces in the store so they can keep a visual standard for what they think is “trendy”. Everyone who interviewed me had been with apple for a very long time and had a seemingly amazing personality, but the more questions I asked the more I realized they had just been molded over the years to act a certain way, and it all seemed very fake at the end. I’m not drinking it- thank you! Stop trying so hard.
