Easy Interview – Overall Neutral Experience – No – Tue, 10 Mar 2015
Interviewed Jan 2015 in Pasadena, CA(took 28 days)
The application starts online. I believe the hiring process varies depending on the individual store. The hiring manager from my particular local store sent me an email and invited me to interview.
When I arrived for my interview, there was another candidate, and apparently there was supposed to be a third who never showed up. I guess this store loves to multitask in their hiring process because the group interview was conducted by both the hiring manager and the general manager. Apparently there are several interviews an Apple recruit has to go through, so they just wanted to kill two birds with one stone.
We went across the street to an open/public eating area to do the interview. The interview itself felt very laid back to me, with no questions that really put me on the spot. Questions included Why Apple?, How Do You Work in a Team?, How Would You Fix a Problem?, etc.-- very generic stuff. The interview felt very easy to me, but apparently I was not "Apple Material" and didn't get hired.
Some notes about the positions at my store:
1. Part time only (~15-30 hrs a week)
2. Must commit 2 weekend days (Fri-Sat-Sun) in schedule
3. 8-hr days
4. Everyone is hired at Specialist level
