Average Interview – Overall Positive Experience – No – Sun, 29 Mar 2015
Interviewed Oct 2014 in London, England(took 60 days)
Apple's interview process is in three stages
This had been the second time I had applied for Apple, the first time back in 2011 where I failed the interview as it was literally my first interview (and failed miserably at 1st interview to point out !) and one in 2014, and the interview process is almost the same so I can explain quite accurately what happens
1st Interview - Get together in large group and then asked to introduce the person next to you and explain their current situation and their favorite Apple store (Invigilators in the room are watching to see how you interact with other people at this stage)
Then you are asked to watch a video about Apple. All about the customer experience, put the customer first (Get used to this mantra as it will take you far in Apple)
Then you are split into groups to do 2 activities. One of them will be to do a presentation based on a scenario which a prospective Apple customer is looking for certain features and you have to recommend an apple product or service for their needs (Again, invigilators are watching how you interact in a team setting, and how confident you are in presenting your ideas)
Second activity is a role play where one group of people act as the customer looking for an item, and another person acts as the apple employee recommending an apple product to them for their needs in real-time. Afterwards, the roles are switched and the people being the customer are now the Apple employees and vice-versa. This activity can really trip you up, as they have many scenarios which they can throw at you, and none of them are the same so you REALLY need to know your Apple products well so your not mumbling rubbish.
2nd Interview - If you passed the interview, you will be given an email explaining details of next interview event, and the email will include an attachment called an About Me form *MAKE SURE TO FILL THIS IN AND BRING IT WITH YOU, DO NOT FORGET IT!!*
You come to the interview and meet the store leader and it's simply just an informal chat about who you are, what you like, talking what apple is about. Then they ask you questions about your about me form. Present yourself confidently at this stage and you will be fine.
3rd Interview - Literally the same as 2nd Interview, except interview will be with regional leader. Literally nothing to worry about, just informal talking
As for Apple, they are looking for a specific type of personality. They have 3 interviews because they are VERY picky about who they employ. They want people who has a strong interest, or is currently inside a creative industry of some sort (e.g. Music, Photography, Video). They love this kind of person.
