Interview – Overall Neutral Experience – No – Thu, 30 Apr 2015
Interviewed Mar 2014 in Singapore(took 90 days)
Typical process: Send CV and cover letter, after very long time a call back with HR. Submission of a business case. Interview with 4 hiring managers followed by business case presentation.
The process included a business case, which was very challenging if you do not have specific knowledge of the industry. I did not perform well, I recognize it. But the interviews went very well.
You would think that a company like apple hires based on potential and not only a business case but the feedback I got was "Your business case was not good". When I asked for more feedback the answer was "there were better business cases". I do get that but after dedicating some time to it, the least thing I expect is respect to my time and clear feedback. When I asked if they found problems with cultural fit or wrong behaviors during the interview in order to know if I just do not fit there or if I can apply to other positions, the answer was "oh no, it is a multicultural team, people from all over the world" -- This is Singapore, multiculturalism is granted, so I guess they are not used to give honest and open feedback. A huge surprise for me when you see the image they want to project externally.
During the interview they told me that within a week they would call me back. After a week, nothing, when I followed up, they delayed the decision for another week. After two weeks again nothing, so I phoned. After that they told me the feedback on the business case. If you knew the business case is not good, why not being honest straight away?
