Difficult Interview – Overall Positive Experience – Yes, and I accepted – Mon, 27 Apr 2015
Interviewed null -1 in Cupertino, CA(took 21 days)
==Pre-Interview==
I was contacted via LinkedIn by a recruiter. We set up a quick phone chat a few days later. The recruiter asked if I'd be interested in relocating, asked me some questions about why I would like to work at Apple, and tiny bit about what I was doing at the time. At the end of the call, I was asked to send my current resume and some writing samples to her so she could forward them to the hiring manager.
==Phone Interview==
After speaking with the recruiter, the coordinator set up a phone interview between the hiring manager and me. It was a 45-minute conversation. Very personable and enjoyable, but if I didn't know how to answer questions about voice, design, or UX, I would've been dead on the spot. After the phone call ended, the recruiter called me about 10 minutes later and asked how it went, and I said it was a great conversation and that I was interested in the role. At that point, she said the hiring manager wanted to move forward to bring me onsite for a set of interviews. I gladly accepted.
==Onsite Interview==
I interviewed over 5 hours and I met 6 other employees, from product owners, PMs, and other people who do something similar as I do. Everyone was really sharp, knew their stuff, and asked good questions. The most senior interviewer was definitely the most difficult, but I think we still shared a few laughs.
