Difficult Interview – Overall Positive Experience – Yes, and I accepted – 1 of 1 found this helpful – Wed, 10 Sep 2014

Interviewed Aug 2014(took 4+ weeks)
Minimum of 4 interviews I was told First was a group interview. Second one on one Third one on one Fourth was another group interview. Pretty much you must be outgoing and willing to learn and let it be known you want to learn. I had a couple people in my first group interview who were ask "when was a time you failed and what did you learn from it?" He answered "I never fail, that is something that doesn't happen to me." when this happened all i thought was 'well I won't see you again.' I also had a guy ask what the pay was going to be in the first interview which is never good because its an entry level position the whole point is to get hired not really what the pay is. The best advise I can give you is be fun in the interview you can laugh. The interviewers were all pretty young and fun. the whole process was about a month. And people when the interview is over ask questions in not one group interview I had did someone ask questions when the interview was over besides me. ask what they do? how they got to where they are? do they like it? Don't be discouraged but try and stand out, apple only hires who they like. personality and intelligence get you the job. if you are a nerd who thinks they know everything and you act ignorant because you are smart they won't pick you.

Interview Questions
Name a time you had good customer service? Why apple? Name a time you gave good customer service? (every interview) Name a time you failed and what did you learn? Your favorite product and why? Why are you a good candidate?

Easy Interview – Overall Positive Experience – No – Wed, 10 Sep 2014

Interviewed null -1 in Albany, NY(took a day)
I was able to be referred by a current employee, and about 3 weeks later was emailed about coming in for a Hiring Seminar the following week. The seminar had 20 people. It was actually quite fun, it was mostly about seeing what everyone's personality was like and answering standard interview questions in a small group of 5 that was passed around on an iPad. The seminar only lasted 90 minutes, and I thought it went quite well, as I noticed a couple employees throughout the session watching me as a spoke in the small group. But unfortunately, three days later I received an email telling me I had been rejected. I will keep applying for other positions, hopefully they will give me another shot.

Difficult Interview – Overall Neutral Experience – No – Thu, 11 Sep 2014

Interviewed Sep 2013(took 2 weeks)
I applied for the position on a Sunday and received a phone call from a recruiter the next morning. I was scheduled for an interview with another Apple recruiter. With my experience in interviews, I took this as the initial general fit type interview. The recruiter was straight-forward and pretty to the point. I was asked questions about my experience as well as some situational/behavioral style questions. I got the sense that they wanted to hear a strong personal connection to Apple's products. They asked about my managerial style and those types of questions. At the end of the interview the recruiter advised me at least 2 more interviews would take place. One via webcam. I thanked her for her time and looked forward to hearing back. I received an email about a week later stating they went with other candidates. This was a form type letter not personal communication.

Interviewed Aug 2014
I was contacted by a manager over the phone (they had seen my resume come across their desk), and was asked to setup an interview with them at a later date. Phone interview was pretty straight forward. They asked about my experience (all of the stuff on my resume) and some hypothetical questions about how I would approach certain problems. Next day, I received a call and was asked to fly up for an interview at their HQ the following week. It was a two day interview. The first day consisted of interviews by the team that I would be working with directly on a daily basis. Those guys and gals were down to earth and seemed like they would be good to work with. A lot of the questions were similar to the phone interview, but in even more detail. The nightmare came on the second day. The division I was applying for has a VP that wants to meet everyone that works under him (which is actually pretty cool), but the problem is that he spent to whole time trying to make me feel less than him and/or trying to make me feel lucky that I was even being considered for any position at Apple. He kept looking at his watch the whole time. Another thing that was mentioned by every person that I interviewed with was the amount of hours you are expected to work (12+ hours a day). When I would get asked if I was OK with that, I kept bringing up the fact that I don't believe its about the hours you put in, but the quality of your output that is important, and they just kinda blew me off. That's when I knew this was not the place for me. Once I was done with the interviews, it took them two weeks to get back to me. They ended up going with someone else.

Interview Questions
There was no unexpected question, but the most asked question was if I was OK with working long hours and weekends.

Group interview of 15 or so people, were shown a couple of videos about the company, then split off into small groups of 5 to answer questions about our past experiences. We then regrouped where they continued to talk more about the company, and at that point they ended the interview. Received an e-mail a couple of days later saying that I was declined and found someone who better fit

Interviewed null -1(took 1+ week)
The recruiter called first. Then he arranged a 45-min phone screen in the same week. Interview questions are basic systemverilog and UVM related. We also talked about my previous working experiences with two other companies, and research experiences in school. The end of story is that I didn't pass the interview due to they don't think i am a good fit.

Interview Questions
I don't think the questions are difficualt. Some coding related questions I didn't answered well, mainly because my passed experiences are more focusing on the hw design, not sw coding.

Incredibly positive experience. Received call from recruiter on a Friday, had a short interview with her the following Tuesday, followed by the next level recruiter on Wednesday, and my final interview with a hiring manager on Thursday. Received offer on Friday. I've never had such a quick turnaround time, and such a positive interviewing experience. Every person I spoke to was friendly, courteous and respectful of my time.

Interviewed Jul 2014 in Cupertino, CA(took 3 months)
One phone interview, one short in person interview, and one long in person interview. The long interview had the most technical questions. The interviews were interesting b/c they were looking for a power electronics/controls engineer yet none of the interviewers seemed to have that experience. A few questions related to large volume manufacturing. Everyone seemed really happy and dedicated to what they are doing. Apple provided no response/feedback after the last interview.

Interview Questions
The difficulty level of all questions was moderate. One interviewer asked me how to fade an led. The question was so easy (just use PWM) I psyched myself out and tried to answer it with an inductor instead. I just couldn't believe it was that easy.

Average Interview – Overall Positive Experience – Yes, and I accepted – Mon, 15 Sep 2014

Interviewed Sep 2010 in Las Vegas, NV(took 2 weeks)
There were three interviews for the part-time retail position, which might seem odd for those not familiar with Apple's commitment to quality. First was a group interview, in which general questions were asked in order to assess who was outgoing, friendly and customer-focused. The second interview was a one-on-one with the store manager, in which various role-playing scenarios were given in addition to the standard interview questions (such as "What would you do if a customer wasn't happy with a product they just purchased?" They aren't looking for the "right" answers, per se, but for someone able to think on their feet and put customers at ease. Finally there might be a quick interview with the District Manager, more of a meet-and-greet than a proper interview, for senior positions.

Difficult Interview – No – Mon, 15 Sep 2014

Interviewed Sep 2014 in West Hartland, CT
So I applied at the end of August, and I got an email invitation to a apple hiring event with 90 applicants. I was invited to stay after the event. I was there for four hours interviewing with different store managers. Then I was called an hour afterwards for an interview the next morning. The interview was outdoors, and all interviews were group ranging from two to five people. After that interview they called me the next day for an interview the following Monday. I just did that interview and the guy said there is still two more. You must really want this job. Also the two questions you will be asked the most is why apple? And what do you bring to the table?

Interviewed Sep 2014 in Santa Barbara, CA(took 6 months)
I was actually surprised i got an invitation because I had applied several months in the past and i got the invitation through my email. By this time I had already found a job. Anyways the hiring seminar was basically the same as other people's reviews. In total there were 25 applicants there. Once they invite everyone inside the room, the apple employees start clapping as you walk in. Then they show their video presentation. It was basically showing off the Apple culture. Afterwards they break up everyone into groups and an apple employee gets assigned to a group. Then an iPad gets passed to an applicant. The applicant then reads off the question and his answer out loud to everyone in the group. The iPad gets passed along the group until one of the employees ends it. I did not make it to the second interview. I hear there is at least 3-4 interviews that you have to go just to get into an entry position. (which is kind of a lot in my opinion.) But even one of the employees said in the end to not feel discouraged if you don't make it to the second interview because it took him several tries. I hope this helps and good luck to everyone!

Interview Questions
1. Why would you fit well with Apple? 2. What was an achievement that you received that others had trouble receiving? These are some of the questions I got.
